So, I made it back from Utah, all in one piece. My bike was waiting for me where I had left it, so I needed not worry about it walking off after all. I had rather more luggage than I had planned, and none of it would fit into my side cases, so it was probably entertaining to follow me with stuff packed on top almost to my neck level. Didn’t seem to hurt the handling too bad coming home over the Jemez.
Getting cold though… I saw as low as 35 degrees coming home at 6PM. I really am going to have to order those heated grips or heated clothing if I want to continue to ride.
I failed to do much of anything useful this weekend, just kind of slept and let it all ride. Sometimes you have to do that. I went out tonight on the bike to get the picture you see to the left there. I was hoping for something more akin to the view I see from the bike at night, but I didn’t set up a tripod and mess with the settings too much. Kind of hard to get out of the way of traffic with a tripod. I’ll give it another shot here at some point and see if I can’t get a better picture.
Back to business as usual this week. Hoping to get the lab all spiffy and clean in the next day or two, as I have about 3 lab based projects right now that will need some working room. We’ll see how that goes.
Regardless, enjoy the blurry pics for now. I promise something more interesting later this week.
So, yesterday, I rode with Brian from Los Alamos up to Salt Lake City. It was about a 12 hour drive, and we arrived in Salt Lake around midnight. I always enjoy the feel of night driving, and I was bored, so I thought I would play with the camera and see if I could capture some of that on film. I think some of them came out pretty cool. We got to Brian’s place and crashed, well, crashed after Brian set out some mouse traps. Apparently he had some ‘house guests’ while he was out for the last weekend. Regardless, I slept like the dead.
I’ll post another update a little later with some fun stuff from today and some new pictures once I get them off the camera.
