Hi all. Been a while since I posted last. As per normal, December has been busy for me. Regardless, I have some good news. First off, I do plan on reworking and re-releasing my attempt at a book here in the near future. Details will follow. Secondly, New Year’s party at my place this year. Show up around about 6pm. Lastly, Muffy and Spike wish you a happy holiday season. This photo was not staged, actually, I just happened to catch them in a rare moment of sitting right next to each other. It didn’t last long, though. Click it to view the whole image (the thumbnail cuts off a bit of each cat, hah). Enjoy!

Still in Socorro today, but not for much longer. Took some shots of Sooki, Chris’ cat that I think turned out pretty well. I also took some shots out at Box Canyon and the surrounding area, which you can find by clicking here. I think some of these shots came out pretty well. You’ll also notice a ‘Add to Cart’ option on the photos. That’s right folks, I’m selling out. I figured if I was going to put these all online that someone might be interested in some of them. Or maybe not. Eh, it is an experiment. The photos will continue to be free to view, even full size, but if you want to use them for your project, drop me a line and we can discuss some sort of usage terms.

I’m currently waiting for Brian to call and say he’s close to Albuquerque so I can pack up and head up there to meet him. So, I’m just watching TV and reviewing photos here at Chris’ place while I wait. Lots of fun…

I’ve been busy the last day or two here. Amazingly, I’ve gotten a lot of client work done, but nothing has happened on the house. I had hoped to have my lab somewhat in shape by this weekend, but that is not looking like it is going to happen.

Kija has sold or is selling her bed to someone she works with. I had hoped it would have been gone on Tuesday, but the house was a mess so I postponed it so ‘we’ could clean. Which meant, Kija got disgusted with cleaning 20 minutes in and went to bed. So, then I was hoping the bed would be gone Wednesday, but the person forgot. And then, I was hoping it would be gone Thursday, but, yeah, I dunno. The reason? Once it goes, I can move the ‘small’ couch into Kija’s room and free up some room in the lab. I’m hoping this will be the kick in the pants I need to get in there and clean on it, as I don’t really have any walking room right now, and it is bugging me. I still managed to get one project out to a client, but with too much annoyance.

Spike has really taken to playing with these little fake mice I bought him. He pops them all around the room, sometimes carrying them in his mouth. I tried to get a shot of him with one in his mouth, but he was camera shy. The focus mechanism is probably pretty loud to him, so he’d stop and watch me every time I re-focused.

Today I had an eye doctor appointment. Of course, I didn’t realize this until yesterday when they called and said, “You have an appointment tomorrow”, but hey…

Anyway, I got there about 9:15, got the forms, and filled them out. Sat down, and read a magazine. A while later, one of the technicians or whatever you call the non-doctor staff came out to get me. She put me on some machine to get a rough idea of my needed prescription, and measured my glasses, and then did the air puff thingy. Then I was placed in The Room to wait for the eye doc. However, she told me before leaving, “The doctor is not in yet, and she won’t answer her phone in the mornings, so we have no idea when she will be here, so it might be a bit of a wait”. Alrighty then…

I sat and waited, and the doctor arrived about 10 minutes later. I heard the receptionist lady and another mention my name a few times outside the door; I guess they had lost my file. Yum. The doctor came in, sat down, and went through the “read the lowest line” routine, and then did it again, only this time with the little optical dial thingy. Then she asked some questions, and put the eye dilation drops in, which stung like crazy.

So, today I rode down to Albuquerque and met up with Chris to get his old camera from him. Chris upgraded to a Canon Digital Rebel, so I bought his old Nikon 5700 from him. It was a fun ride to Albuquerque over the Jemez, as I was running late but was having a lot of fun taking the corners.

Anyway, I got the camera, had lunch, did a little shopping, and then headed north. I had a caving club meeting tonight, and met Kija there. A fun meeting, but I am pretty sleepy now.

I just took a few random pics with the camera. Let me know what you think. I rather like this one of Muffy, except for the glassy eye thing, but what can ya do?
