People. People are interesting, mostly.

Some of them are interesting because of what they think. What could be better than learning something truly unique and earth shattering from someone? Kind of a eureka moment where something just clicks for you, or changes your outlook on life.

Some of them are interesting because of what they do. You have your accepted conventions of behavior. You know what you would do in a situation, and when you run across someone who does just the opposite, and better yet, pull it off, that can really make you think hard about things.

Some of them are interesting because of what they are not. What do you expect from someone, a normal human being? What do you do when you find someone who completely does not meet this expectation?

Regardless, I know a lot of people. I’m the sort of person who likes to sit back and watch, and where I can, give a little nudge here and there and see what happens. Sure, I’ll hop in an joke around if I have the chance, but usually I’m that quiet creepy guy sitting in the corner watching. I’ve seen a bit of everyone over the years. It is all interesting.

Where the heck am I going with this?

My cat. My cat is annoying sometimes. But he is predictable. When he gets cold, he comes looking for me to warm up. When he is hungry, he yells at me. When he’s lonely, he comes around looking for some petting. Are people predictable?

Part of you is saying, yes, no one really changes from what they are. Part of you is saying, no, people will surprise you. Which is the truth? Is it unilateral or can it be a bit of both?

Better yet, does it really matter?

Well, that was awfully meta, even for me. Yeah, something is bugging me. No, it is not you. Stay tuned.
