Bug me not…

Sheeesh, ya get busy and then the blog gets stale..

It’s been busy out here recently. I finally got the lab cleaned up, and my little stop motion experiment seemed to work out pretty well. I gotta finish the editing and then I will share it with you.

Kija’s best friend Whitney got married a while back, so the new pictures are all from that shindig. I didn’t get very many good shots, but I wasn’t really trying too hard, just playing around with shooting people in action.

Otherwise, things are just staying constantly busy around here. I have a demo where I need to pump real time data from sensors on a bridge that I am working on. The computer I have mounted under the bridge was not responding, so I rode up there tonight to fetch it. Turns out the computer was on just fine, it was the wireless link that was messing up somehow. They have been doing a lot of construction right around the bridge, so its likely to have messed with my signal path.

So, I open the box containing the battery, charge controller and computer system, and I note that there is a large number of small nat like bugs inside the box. Well, it does stay cozy in there, and the box has holes, so I can’t keep them out. The computer itself is housed in a waterproof box. I unplugged it, and sat it on a supporting beam and went to shut the door on the main box. Just as I shut the door, the computer box got knocked off and went sliding down the slope, and came to rest about 20 foot away. I locked up the big box and went to fetch it. I sat it on a pipe and opened it to check for damage.

About this time, I suddenly heard a buzzing in my right ear. I waved my hand and the buzzing was still there. I almost dumped the computer again, this time with its box open. I yanked off my head lamp and proceeded to bounce around trying to extract this damn bug. It finally quit buzzing, so I think I got it out. Gah I hate bugs.

Anyway, that was the most excitement I have had today. Go me.
