So, today I rode down to Albuquerque and met up with Chris to get his old camera from him. Chris upgraded to a Canon Digital Rebel, so I bought his old Nikon 5700 from him. It was a fun ride to Albuquerque over the Jemez, as I was running late but was having a lot of fun taking the corners.
Anyway, I got the camera, had lunch, did a little shopping, and then headed north. I had a caving club meeting tonight, and met Kija there. A fun meeting, but I am pretty sleepy now.
I just took a few random pics with the camera. Let me know what you think. I rather like this one of Muffy, except for the glassy eye thing, but what can ya do?
So, today I managed to get a board working that I needed to have shipped last week. Long story short, I messed up the board design and had to resubmit the layout for fab with a ultra-mega-mega hurry. Anyway, as a break from sitting over a soldering iron most of the day, I decided to take a break.
I needed some sandpaper to clean up the board edges, and some food, so I decided to run down to Espanola. Espanola is about 30 miles from me, and is the nearest Walmart:
(you can click the points to see which one is me and which is Walmart)
Anyway, I put the liner in my leather jacket and hopped on the bike. Seeing as it was about 48 degrees out, it was a tad chilly. The jacket is pretty warm, but my standard blue jeans are not. Ah well, it wasn’t bad.
There is something about zipping down the highway at night on a motorcycle that is hard to describe. I wish I could somehow snap a picture of what I see out there. The glow of the gauges, the purr of the motor, the rush of the air, headlights picking out the irregularities of the road. Plus, at night, you have the high-beam dance with the other drivers, some remember to turn off theirs, others you have to flash. Kind of weird when you think about it. Regardless, 60 miles later, I’m refreshed, with a burger in tow, which I will be eating shortly. With luck, the rest of the boards will test out as well, and make this a great week. Hopefully.
Hope to see you on the road
So, chalk another one up for Muffy. We’ve had a few mice in the house lately, now that it is getting cold out. We found one beheaded outside the bedroom one morning. A few weeks later there was commotion in the living room, with Muffy bolting after something squeaking. She caught it, and I took it away from her. Later that night she got yet another one!
Well, this afternoon, Spike and I discovered a mouse in the living room. We chased it around the living room, Benny Hill style, for about 20 minutes before it disappeared into the couch somehow. We let it be, as it would come out eventually. Around about 10pm, I spotted something small and furry on the top of the couch. I pointed it out to Spike and went to get my towel to scoop it up, but it had already bolted back under the couch. The cats then setup a perimeter around the couch, waiting for the poor little thing.
Around 2am, there was another commotion, and out comes Muffy with legs sticking out of her mouth. I caught her before she could go find somewhere to release the critter, and carried her outside, which turned out to not be the brightest idea. I forced her to drop the mouse, which took some work, and the mouse ran off into the darkness. Muffy REALLY wanted to go after it, and scratched my hands up pretty bad trying to get away from me.
So, thus ends the tale of another successful mouser. I’m sure this will not be the last one of this season.
So, I’m gonna give blogging another chance. Check back here often to see it works out.
