So, yesterday, I rode with Brian from Los Alamos up to Salt Lake City. It was about a 12 hour drive, and we arrived in Salt Lake around midnight. I always enjoy the feel of night driving, and I was bored, so I thought I would play with the camera and see if I could capture some of that on film. I think some of them came out pretty cool. We got to Brian’s place and crashed, well, crashed after Brian set out some mouse traps. Apparently he had some ‘house guests’ while he was out for the last weekend. Regardless, I slept like the dead.
I’ll post another update a little later with some fun stuff from today and some new pictures once I get them off the camera.
Still in Socorro today, but not for much longer. Took some shots of Sooki, Chris’ cat that I think turned out pretty well. I also took some shots out at Box Canyon and the surrounding area, which you can find by clicking here. I think some of these shots came out pretty well. You’ll also notice a ‘Add to Cart’ option on the photos. That’s right folks, I’m selling out. I figured if I was going to put these all online that someone might be interested in some of them. Or maybe not. Eh, it is an experiment. The photos will continue to be free to view, even full size, but if you want to use them for your project, drop me a line and we can discuss some sort of usage terms.
I’m currently waiting for Brian to call and say he’s close to Albuquerque so I can pack up and head up there to meet him. So, I’m just watching TV and reviewing photos here at Chris’ place while I wait. Lots of fun…
Well, I managed to upload all the photos I took today to the server. Feel free to enjoy them by clicking here. Enjoy!

I came down to Socorro today to hang out with Chris and just kill some time for a couple of days. Brian is picking me up either Sunday evening or Monday morning in Albuquerque to take me to Salt Lake City for a few days, so I figured I could take off the weekend and just have some fun.
Leaving Albuquerque this morning it was 32 degrees out. Why is this important? I was on my motorcycle. Frosty seat. I made it into Socorro around 9:30 am. Chris and I went to Burger King and discussed what to do for the day. Apparently Chris had been planning to go help his boss, Scott, hang some siding on his new house this afternoon, and I was to go along. We spent probably an hour or so at Scott’s place and hung 4 sheets of siding.
Afterwards, we swung by Lewis’ place. He claimed he owed me $20, and I wasn’t going to argue. Lewis said there was going to be an ES (earth science) department BBQ out at San Lorenzo Canyon starting around 4pm, and we were invited. What the hell, we didn’t have anything going on…
I’ve been busy the last day or two here. Amazingly, I’ve gotten a lot of client work done, but nothing has happened on the house. I had hoped to have my lab somewhat in shape by this weekend, but that is not looking like it is going to happen.
Kija has sold or is selling her bed to someone she works with. I had hoped it would have been gone on Tuesday, but the house was a mess so I postponed it so ‘we’ could clean. Which meant, Kija got disgusted with cleaning 20 minutes in and went to bed. So, then I was hoping the bed would be gone Wednesday, but the person forgot. And then, I was hoping it would be gone Thursday, but, yeah, I dunno. The reason? Once it goes, I can move the ’small’ couch into Kija’s room and free up some room in the lab. I’m hoping this will be the kick in the pants I need to get in there and clean on it, as I don’t really have any walking room right now, and it is bugging me. I still managed to get one project out to a client, but with too much annoyance.
Spike has really taken to playing with these little fake mice I bought him. He pops them all around the room, sometimes carrying them in his mouth. I tried to get a shot of him with one in his mouth, but he was camera shy. The focus mechanism is probably pretty loud to him, so he’d stop and watch me every time I re-focused.
